| Title: | Real°Pac Office Critical Files and Folders to Back Up | |
| Keywords: | Backup, Restore, Files, Folders | |
| Scope: | All users backing up Real°Pac Office to any source/media | |
| Release: | All Versions |
|
| Summary: | There are three (3) types of files and folders in a typical Real°Pac
Office installation: 1) User-specific; 2) Site-specific; 3) General (all users and sites) |
|
| User-Specific: | In the user's Windows computer, locate the Windows' ROOT folder (typically
"Windows", "WinXP", or "WinNT"). The 2 files that should be backed up off this folder are: REALPAC.INI REALPAC.LIC |
|
| Site-Specific: | On the Site's server computer, locate the Real°Pac ROOT folder (typically
"R:\RP_W", "R:\APPS\RP_W", or "R:\REALPAC"), where "R" is an example of the shared network drive assigned
previously to the application. These are the files and folders that are customized for the site: DB\SiteId (folder) DOCS\SiteId (folder) PACS\SiteId (folder) SYSTEM\SiteId.INI (file) SYSTEM\SiteId (folder) ... where SiteId is your site's unique, 5- top 8-character identifier. If you are not sure what your Site identifier is, then: 1) Run Real°Pac. 2) Pull down the Help menu. 3) Select "About Real°Pac". 4) Your Site Id is dipslayed in bolded characters, on the fourth line of text, counting from the top. 5) Choose or press the OK button and end the application. |
|
| General: | On the Site's server computer, locate the Real°Pac ROOT folder (typically
"R:\RP_W", "R:\APPS\RP_W", or "R:\REALPAC"), where "R" is an example of the shared network drive assigned
previously to the application. These are the files and folders that are while not customized for your site only,
do usually contain document templates that apply to your own jurisdiction, state, type of loans, and/or type of
real estate practice: DOCS\ (folder) |
|
| Notes: | Ideally the entire ROOT Real°Pac folder should be backed up completely,
especially after a software and/or document library update. Then, the user and site-specific files may be
incrementally updated. |
