| Description: | When just about to link to Word, a
Real°Pac message box displays the message: "Sorry - Could not launch External Launcher", then gives a launch command string, and a return value (typically equal to '3'). |

| Resolution: | First, check the path and verify that it is correct. Real°Pac is trying to launch a program that in turn launches Word for you. This program's name is by default W7RP_PRT.EXE for Word '95 (v7), or W8RP_PRT.EXE for Word '97 (v8). | |
| Notes: | This External Launcher "mode" or method of launching Word, implemented for Word 95 and 97 only, utilizes an external program to check for the presence of Word only. The program either activates a dormant session of Word, when found, or launches a new instance of Word. Unlike the more robust launchers introduced with release 2.A, this particular error message and condition pertain to the more limited, rudimentary External Launcher introduced with release 2.7. | |
