Title: Take Advantage of the New Advanced Print Functions Popup
Keywords: Print, Advanced Print Functions, How To, Copies, Print Range, Versions, Version Scope, JobList Output, Print Page Range, From/Thru Pages
Scope: All
Release: 2.A6 and higher
Summary: When ready to choose documents to Print, for any Phase, you need to:
 ·  Print more than one (1) Copy
 ·  Print a range of page(s) only
 ·  Change the Version Scope, which allows you to choose interactively what version of a document will print (normally the system Auto-Selects the right document version for you)
 ·  Change the Field Output so as to print blank documents (with underlines where the fields would normally go), or the actual Real°Pac Keys (the instructions that tell the software what field to put where), for document setup or troubleshooting.
How-To: First, make sure you are in the Print dialog.  Then choose your Phase.  Next, click on the ADVANCED button.

The following Popup should now appear, immediately below where this ADVANCED button appears:
Note that the ADVANCED button has now changed to a BASIC button.  This is so that you have a way of "toggling" on and off this Advanced Print Options Popup.

If you need more than one copy for one or more documents:  Either type in the new number of copies, or use the "spin" buttons to scroll the numbers up or down.  The valid range for number of copies to print is 1 thru 9.

If you want to print only a particular page in one or more documents:  Choose the Pages menu "radio" button, then enter the From and To page numbers in the appropriate text boxes.

If you need to "override" the software's Auto-Select technology and pick a particular, arbitrarily chosen, version of a document:  Choose the Manual-Select  menu "radio" button.  At print time, you will be asked to choose from the list of versions available a single version to print.  Note that if the document(s) to print consist of only one version, this selection will not have any effect.

If you need to "override" the sofware's Auto-Select technology and force the printout of all document versions:  Choose the All Versions Print menu "radio" button.  At print time, any document that has more than one version defined for it will print all its versions at once.

If you need to "override" the default Field Output from Variables (Data) to either Key Ids (for document setup/internal documentation/troubleshooting purposes) or Underlines (to generate blank documents with underlined areas where Data would normally print):  Choose either the Key Ids or the Underlines menu "radio" button.  Your output should reflect the change.

If you want the software to - just prior to the actual documents - print a "Job List" or sheet listing what documents you have chosen to print, check the checkbox "Produce a Joblist?"

Notes: It is very important to remember that these settings are persistent, meaning that they will stay set the way you changed them until you change them again.  The "mode" (Visible/Advanced versus Not Visible/Basic) is also persistent, so as to help you by giving you a visible "cue" as to the modification of these settings by you.
