Title:
Word '97 thru 2002 cannot print due to a Type Mismatch (Err=13) message box
Keywords:
Print, Err=13, Printer Error
Scope:
All sites running
Microsoft Word 97 (8) or higher
Release:
2.0 and higher
Description:
When just about to print within Word, a Word message box appears with a
'Run-Time Macro Error, Err=13' message. The problem, in all
documented cases to date, has to do with an invalid parameter string
being passed via DDE or OLE to Microsoft Word.
Resolution:
Quit Word. Then, go to
Real°Pac Setup, and pull down the Properties menu. Select either
MS Word for Windows v8 for Word 97, MS Word for Windows v9 for Word
2000, or MS Word for Windows v10 for Windows 2002. Next, click
on the Macro Control tab. The fifth field shown, "Print
Launch Macro String", should have the following text in it:
ToolsMacro
Name:="RealPacPrintJob", Run:=1
The most common mistake is the omission of either the colon (":")
or the equals ("=") character. Make the change(s) needed,
then choose the UPDATE button at the bottom of the form (or press the
ENTER/RETURN key on your keyboard). Choose YES to confirm your changes,
then choose OK to acknowledge that the change(s) were posted successfully,.
Try printing again. The Err=13 condition should now be gone. If
it still happens, and you get a Word message box with a DEBUG button, then
click on that button. Once the Visual Basic for Applications Editor
hilights a line in a procedure called TmpDDE, make a note (or take a
snapshot) of the hilighted line, and contact Uni*Comp technical support as
soon as possible.!
